New Defender CargoBear Roof Rack

Two legends meet here: The New Defender is currently the most complete off-road vehicle in the world and our proven modular roof rack system CargoBear literally crowns the new Landy, whether it’s a 90(coming soon) or 110.

At Nakatanenga, we took the time to fine-tune the CargoBear to the specifications and usage profile of the Defender L663 (from MY 2020). The CargoBear for the new 110 consists of three cross members, two plate modules and one front and one end module each at a full length of 2.41m. With a width of 1.20m, this gives almost 3m² of fully loadable and walkable roof area – this is also a plus point compared with other racks.

The CargoBear is mounted on the existing mounting points of the roof rails, which of course must therefore be removed. In contrast to other racks, the CargoBear can be configured in two heights: At 100mm, the glass roof, if available, can be fully used. Anyone who does not have a glass roof or places more value on lower mounting can mount the carrier at 80mm above the roof.

But whether mounted high or low, the aerodynamics of the CargoBear has always been one of our main goals. Even if there is no official speed limit for the roof rack, we recommend a maximum of 160 km/h unladen and a maximum of 130 km/h laden. When it comes to payload, it is also important to pay attention to the manufacturer’s information and car configuration and to deduct the dead weight of the roof rack of up to approx. 50 kg from the dynamic maximum load.

With the black powder coating of the aluminium and stainless steel components, the CargoBear also compliments the look of the new Defender. Cutouts for the antenna and reversing camera ensure that all functions remain unaffected. The front element is also ideal for mounting an Osram VX1000-CB or other light bars.
